ISSR lasts 10 working days.

The program includes lectures, seminars, face-to-face trainings, experimental exercises on the following topics:


1 Basics of radiochemistry.

Phenomenon of radioactivity. Interaction of ionizing radiation with matter. Sources of ionizing radiation.


2 Detection and measurement of ionizing radiation.

Common methods of detection and types of detectors. Spectrometry of ionizing radiation.


3 Radiation safety and basic concepts of dosimetry.

Biological effect of different types of ionizing radiation. Radiation safety issues during operations with ionizing radiation sources. National regulation of radiation safety and basic sanitary rules.


4 Methods of radionuclide production.

Nuclear reactions. Isotope generators. Methods for isolation and separation of radionuclides.


5 Nuclear medicine.

Diagnosis and therapy methods. Production and quality control of radiopharmaceuticals. GMP requirements for the production of radiopharmaceuticals.


The organising committee is pleased to offer attendees excursions to operating nuclear facilities.
